Tony Blair to make first election campaign appearance tomorrow

Picture 5 The Mirror this morning reports that Gordon Brown's predecessor and former arch-rival, Tony Blair, will tomorrow make the first of several appearances of the election campaign.

It will be a speech from the safety of his old constituency in County Durham.

The paper reports:

"Tony Blair's dramatic re-emergence on the political centre stage will destroy David Camerons arrogant claim that he is the natural successor to the former PM. Cameron insists he is the heir to Blair because he has modernised the Tories in the same way that Mr Blair shook-up Labour before coming to power. But tomorrow Mr Blair will puncture those pretensions once and for all by declaring Cameron and his cronies to be the same old Tories."
