Following the selections of Rob Adlard and Seema Kennedy for Stalybridge and Hyde, and Ashton-under-Lyne respectively, the Conservatives in neighbouring Denton and Reddish have now selected their candidate for the general election.
Donning the blue rosette in the fight against Labour MP Andrew Gwynne will be Julie Searle. Julie has been a member of Adur council in Hampshire West Sussex since 2000, where she currently serves as Cabinet Member for Improved Customer Services. Her occupational background is in chemical engineering.
Gwynne is defending a notional majority of 13,128 over the Conservatives.
