Nominations closed yesterday afternoon for the Inverclyde by-election, which will take place on June 30th.
Just five candidates are in the running to represent the seat, formerly held by David Cairns for Labour.
They are:
- Sophie Bridger - Lib Dem
- Iain McKenzie - Labour
- Anne McLaughlin - SNP
- Mitch Sorbie - UKIP
- David Wilson - Conservative
The result at the general election was:
- Labour - 20,933 (56.0%)
- SNP - 6,577 (17.5%)
- Lib Dem - 5,007 (13.3%)
- Conservative - 4,502 (12.0%)
- UKIP - 433 (1.2%)
