Antony Calvert's campaign in the newly drawn Morley and Outwood constituency, which Children, Schools and Families Secretary Ed Balls is defending for Labour, continues apace.
Last week he was given a boost when former Morley Borough Independent councillor, Stewart McArdle, decided to return to politics to endorse his campaign and seek re-election himself as a Conservative candidate. He said:
“I’ve been very impressed with Antony Calvert and how passionate he is about the local community. He’s someone I and many other independent minded voters can trust to represent us. Ed Balls is only in this for what he can get. Antony is genuinely in for the local area and that’s why I’ve decided to join the Conservatives and help him win."
