Yesterday she resigned. Today Joanne Cash has decided to stay as Tory candidate for Westminster North. A lot will be written about this over the next 48 hours.

A 10 minute break took place during which Mr Hancock and others were in frantic negotiations with the leadership. One person said that Mr Cameron himself was on the phone - "He’s livid", they said."
