The six candidates seeking the Conservative nomination for Hayes and Harlington are:
- Gurmaj Dhillon - Former Treasury official who has advised the Conservatives on police reform and youth justice policy
- Lindsey Hall - Westminster councillor and former TV producer and presenter
- Tony Lit - Managing Director of Sunrise Radio; contested Ealing Southall by-election in 2007
- Sheela Mackintosh - Deputy Chairman of Beaconsfield Conservatives who was a member of the CSJ's Family Law Commission
- Naman Purewal - Deputy Chairman of Feltham and Heston Conservatives; contested Knowsley North and Sefton East in 2005
- Scott Seaman-Digby - Hayes-born and bred, a Hillingdon councillor since 1998 and a management consultant
A special general meeting to select the candidate will be held on March 9th.
The constituency was held for the Conservatives between 1983 and 1997 by Terry Dicks, when it was gained by Labour Left-winger John McDonnell. He will defend a notional majority of 10,594 over the Conservatives at the general election and would be unseated on a swing against him of 14.3%.
