Conservative candidates were selected tonight for two Labour seats in South Yorkshire:
- Rotherham - Jackie Whiteley will take on Denis MacShane, who
defends a notional majority of 13,865 over the Lib Dem, with the
Conservatives starting in third place.
- Wentworth - Michelle Donelan will challenge housing minister John Healey in the renamed and redrawn Wentworth and Dearne seat, which he hold with a notional majority of 17,551 over the Lib Dems, with the Conservatives starting in third place.
