On November 7th, Daniel Gage was selected as Conservative PPC to challenge sitting Lib Dem MP Nick Clegg in Sheffield Hallam as part of the City Seats Initiative.
However, within days of his selection, 24-year-old Daniel was disqualified from his membership of Dronfield Town Council for not having attended a Town Council meeting for six months.
The Sheffield Telegraph now reports today that he has resigned as PPC for Sheffield Hallam in response to complaints from members of the local party and that the association will now begin the process of selecting a new parliamentary candidate.
