Speaking on Andrew Marr's programme this morning David Cameron suggests that her position is different from that of her husband, Andrew MacKay, who has been forced to stand down at the next election.
Mr Cameron's exact words:
"To be fair to Julie she does genuinely live in London, that's where her son goes to school, that's her main home and she does genuinely have a home in her constituency on which she claims a second home allowance. So I do think we have to look at that case separately. Obviously there are some questions raised in the papers today about other people living in the house and she'll have to answer those questions. But I do think the two cases are different."
