We have learnt that local activists are disappointed that a popular local councillor, Sharon Massey, has failed to make it on to a shortlist of twenty for the seat being vacated by Derek Conway. 170 people applied to the seat but a sifting that took place at CCHQ with three representatives of the local Association failed to include Cllr Massey despite her high profile campaign to save a local A&E ward.
