What would you bring to the role of MEP?
Eveleigh Moore-Dutton: My upbringing in Southern Africa means that I see this country not as a minor province of a European super-state but as a positive, dynamic force at the centre of a world-wide network of trade, cultural and historic ties. It is a view that is too often lacking in the European parliament.
Anthea McIntyre: I bring a combination of business success and political experience. I have the ability and determination to stand up for the interests of the people of the West Midlands and to represent them effectively in Brussels. Having run a very successful business for sixteen years in this region and seen the stranglehold of red tape on enterprise, I will work to roll back the legislation continually foisted on us from Europe.
Dan Dalton: Life experience outside of politics from professional cricket, sports development, small business and work with young people. An understanding of the needs of younger generations. Significant experience of the European Parliament and how it works. A commitment to stand up for my country, region and Conservative Party principles.
Why have you chosen to stand for the West Midlands?
Eveleigh Moore-Dutton: For 29 years I have lived, worked and raised my family on the northern edge of the West Midlands. My family business operates in the region and it is where my children were educated. Wanting to serve the area that has made me so welcome for so long was so natural that it was hardly a decision at all.
Anthea McIntyre: I live and work in the West Midlands and all of my political life has been spent here. As West Midlands YC Vice-Chairman, Women's Vice-Chairman, CPC Chairman and Regional Chairman (including chairing the European Team), I have campaigned for the Party for many years. Having gained experience as an energetic âfoot-soldierâ at branch and association level, I also ran the West Midlands Training Team delivering practical advice to constituencies throughout the region.
Dan Dalton: West Midlands is my region. I have lived, worked and studied here all my life. I went to school in Leamington and Stratford and university at Coventry and Warwick. I played professional cricket for Warwickshire, have run a business and coached cricket throughout the region.
