Interviewed by ConservativeHome on Tuesday, Shaun Bailey became the Conservative candidate for Hammersmith yesterday evening. Shaun overcame rival candidates Anthony Frieze, Helen Grant and Kedra Goodall to win the chance to overturn a projected Labour majority of nearly 6,000.
Welcoming the decision, Greg Hands, the MP for Hammersmith and Fulham and our candidate for Chelsea and Fulham, welcomed Shaun's adoption:
“Shaun was my choice on the night, and he will be an inspirational candidate and a brilliant MP for Hammersmith. He spent a week with me in the Autumn getting a feel for the job, but there wasn’t much new I could teach him! With Shaun, we now have a very real chance of winning this tough but potentially crucial seat for the Conservatives.”

ConservativeHome will be posting later this morning on the implications of Shaun's adoption for the party's 'diversity' objectives.
