David Gold has been selected tonight for Eltham. Approximately 140 people turned up for the open primary meeting - the first in London - hosted by Michael Portillo. David beat two non A-listers - Jackie Doyle-Price (PPC Sheffield Hillsborough 2005) and Eric Ollerenshaw (former Greater London Assembly member). He won more than 50% of the ballot in the first round. Eltham is currently held by Labour with a majority of over 3,000 but positive boundary changes make it a likely Tory gain at the next General Election.
