Corby MP Louise Bagshawe has married Metallica manager Peter Mensch

Guido had the scoop last night and today's Telegraph carries further details...

"Louise Bagshawe, the Tory MP, has married an American rock promoter 19 years her senior during the parliamentary recess... Bagshawe, who captured Corby for the Tories last year, has married Peter Mensch, 58, who manages rock bands including Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snow Patrol. "It will have to be a long-distance relationship to start with," says the MP, who has homes in London and Northamptonshire, while her husband lives in New York. "Our work is important to both of us, but we will get together as often as we can."

Jonathan Isaby marries Claudia

The ConHome team - myself, Paul Goodman, Harry Phibbs (plus Michael Ashcroft) - were among the guests at the National Liberal Club in Westminster on Saturday for the wedding of Jonathan Isaby, Co-Editor of ConservativeHome. Jonathan has been a member of the Club for many years and gave his vows underneath a large portrait of David Lloyd George!

It was a wonderful occasion, attended by a good number of MPs and Jonathan's friends from his beloved York University - as well as family.

Mr and Mrs Isaby are now on honeymoon (without BlackBerry) but Jonathan will, of course, return in time for the Birmingham Party Conference.

Nick Hurd MP marries Lady Clare Kerr

I am alerted to a union between two Tory dynasties through the Twitter feed of Nick Hurd.

The son of former Foreign Secretary Lord Hurd and MP for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner - who is minister for civil society in the Coalition Government - is today marrying Lady Clare Kerr, the elder daughter of the Marquess of Lothian - better known as former Conservative Party chairman, Michael Ancram.

Lady Clare, who is training to be a child psychotherapist, is being given away by her father at the ceremony which is taking place at the ancestral Ancram home in Monteviot near Jedburgh, in the Scottish Borders.

Mr Hurd told his local paper in June:

"There was already a connection between our two families as our fathers both entered Parliament as Conservative MPs in the same year - 1974. I popped the question on a beach in Cornwall about a month ago - she didn't have much time to think about her answer, as the tide was coming in very fast!"

Charles Barwell gets married

Congratulations to Charles Barwell, the President of the National Conservative Convention, and to Juliet Allen, who were married last Saturday.

Rowan Penning in the Daily Telegraph reports today the accompaniment of the wedding by a violent downpour and the presence at it of a plague of wasps.

Also there, I gather, were MPs Nicola Blackwood, Chris Kelly, Jonathan Lord, Chris White and Ed Vaizey, as well as Vicky Ford MEP and Baroness Knight.

Hendon's new MP, Matthew Offord, marries

We are grateful to Andreas Tambourides for alerting us to the fact that Hendon’s new MP Matthew Offord married his fiancée, Claire Rowles, on Saturday 12th June 2010.
 
During the service the traditional hymns of I Vow to Thee my Country and Jerusalem were accompanied by a more recent hymn in the form of the Beatles' All You Need is Love.
 
The couple received a letter from the Prime Minister and Mrs Cameron congratulating them on their marriage:

“It is always encouraging to see new colleagues putting into action our key manifesto pledges. Matthew has wasted no time in doing this. Just weeks after the new Coalition Government published our future programme and outlined our belief that strong and stable families of all kinds are the bedrock of a strong and stable society, we see Matthew publicly demonstrating his commitment to our plan by marrying Claire today. I am delighted for you both, and hope Matthew will go on to embrace our other pledges with just as much enthusiasm and commitment!”
