"It has been announced that Andrew Stephenson MP is to be appointed Vice Chairman of the Conservative Party, with responsibility for youth.
Andrew, 29, has been actively involved in Conservative Future and youth politics for a number of years. Andrew was Chairman of Royal Holloway, University of London, CF 1999-2001, did two terms on the CF National Executive and was National Deputy Chairman 2001-2002. He became a Councillor in 2003 at the age of 23 and was one of the first council “Youth Champions” in the country. Part of the 2010 intake Andrew gained Pendle in East Lancashire with a 3,585 vote majority from Labour’s Gordon Prentice who had represented the seat for 18 years.
Following his appointment Andrew said:
“I am delighted that the Prime Minister has asked me to represent the Party at a youth level. I hope that my recent experience within Conservative Future will allow me to bring a fresh approach to the role. I also look forward to working with the Party Co-Chairman to continue to make CF a relevant and significant political organisation for young people across the Country.”"
