LOCATION... Netley Abbey, Southampton. Chris Huhne is my MP.
SELF-DESCRIPTION... 37 years old and struggling with the fact that now I get fat if I don’t exercise. I’m married with daughters aged 2 and 4 who benefit (I hope) from a thoroughly modern father who does his share of childcare – and mostly enjoys it.
Outside of my family my passions are ocean racing and skiing – although, since skiing off a cliff, my turns aren’t as neat as they used to be. The second I step foot on a boat, I feel revived. Fortunately my wife shares my love of the sea and my daughters both crossed the Channel before they were 3 months old.
I’m very self-sufficient and have always reacted badly to ignorant authority. These characteristics have framed my life and, at 22, I started a software publishing business with an old school friend. In November 05 we launched our second business - www.software.co.uk – which I recommend to anyone who wants to save money on business or academic software!
POLITICAL BELIEFS... I think that 'respect and personal responsibility' underpins everything I believe.
POLITICAL HERO... I don't really think of politicians as heroes but, if I had to pick one... Michael Heseltine. It's a great mental picture to think of him brandishing the mace at the Red Flag singing Labour benches.
FAVOURITE BLOGS... Conservative Home, of course. Guido and Secret Policeman for something lighter.
