Selsdon Man

Why is a reduction of the consumption of hard liquor evidence of a moral revival?

Surely that is a lifestyle choice that is not the business of government in a free society. Are Americans drinking more wine and beer?

I'm off for a single malt. Cheers!

Things may have got better int he US, but its still the case they kill each other five times faster (each year) than the 9/11 terrorists managed in one year. Their murder rate is still several times Britains. Also, there is a strong argument for saying that Roe v Wade contributed more to crime reduction than anything else. The crime rate in the US has closely followed the reduction in the numbers of poor young men in society.
