January events of interest...

Reading_cf A fair few relevant events happening over the next couple of weeks, I think I've included most of them. Notable inclusions are an event by the Adam Smith Institute's excellent Next Generation, a group which:

"serves as a meeting point for the next generation of leaders in business, academe, the professions, journalism and public policy."

...and a life coaching event at CCHQ aimed at broadening appeal amongst young professionals.

Friday 12th January

Political Questions Evening with Julie Kirkbride MP et al

Organisation: Bromsgrove Conservative Future

Time: 8pm, in the Bell Inn, Belbroughton, Worcestershire

Details: Karen Lumley (Parliamentary Spokesman for Redditch) and Margot James (Parliamentary Spokesman for Stourbridge) are also attending.

Tuesday 16th January

Geoffrey Clinton-Brown MP talk

Details:  Geoffrey was appointed the Shadow Minister for Trade & Foreign Affairs, serving in the teams of both Shadow Foreign Secretary, the Rt. Hon William Hague MP, and Shadow Trade & industry Secretary, Alan Duncan MP.  We will of course be serving the usual gourmet sandwiches and our wine of the month.

Inter-party charity paintballing match

Organisation: Westminster Challenge

Location: City Paintball - Worship Street, EC2A 2BA - 5 mins from Liverpool Street Station

Time: 9.30am onwards
 
Details:  Westminster Challenge is a new cross-party fundraising organisation that brings politics and charity closer together. Tickets are £25 per person, and the charities being supported are CrimeStoppers, Cancer Research UK, The Children's Society.

Each team consists of 14 people, made up of members and researchers from the 3 main parties, as well as teams from related fields, such as PR, public affairs and the media.

CF Breakfast with Ed Vaizey MP

Details: Fancy starting off your week on a political footing? We have Ed Vaizey, Shadow Minister for Culture and MP for Wantage and Didcot, joining us for breakfast and discussions. Monday 29th January

Annual Student TRG Parliamentary Party

Organisation: Tory Reform Group

Location:
In the magnificent Jubilee Room, Parliament.

Time: 7.30pm - 9.30pm

Details: Hosted by the Former Chancellor of the Exchequer, Ken Clarke QC MP. A whole host of MPs, Peers and Shadow Cabinet Members will be attending throughout the evening. Lots of wine and nibbles provided. Due to the size of the room, tickets are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Tickets: £10pp (includes STRG membership), £5pp (Student TRG members).

Networking Event and New Year Celebration

Details: A chance to meet other likeminded women over a glass of wine or two. Members of the Shadow Cabinet and other MPs attend, and it is worth coming along for some valuable advice from them.
