Good to see in today's FT that Oxera's research for the European Commission supports what many of us have known for years: you actually make industry more uncompetitive by subsidising or protecting it.
A future Conservative government must never be one that picks winners, bails out famous brands, nationalises failing industries, etc. We are the party of free competition or we are nothing.
