Bury North MP David Chaytor is understood to be one of the six politicians awaiting the decision of the DPP at 11am as to whether he will face fraud charges over his parliamentary expenses claims.
Chaytor was the Labour MP who claimed £13,000 for a "phantom mortgage".
So I cannot decide whether the timing is lucky or unlucky, that he this morning finds himself detained in the House of Commons chamber, speaking to the Second Reading of his Local Authorities (Overview and Scrutiny) Bill...
Update: Since Mr Chaytor is now being charged, I have closed the comments thread in order that no court case is prejudiced.
