Twenty years ago David Burrowes and I set up the Conservative Christian Fellowship while studying at Exeter University. David and I ran the Exeter University Conservative Association with Robert Halfon (hopefully the next MP for Harlow) and Sajid Javid (who is my hot tip to be Britain's first Muslim Tory MP). Over the years I believe that the CCF has played an important role in encouraging Christian involvement in the party, connecting churchleaders with Conservative MPs and incubating the social justice agenda. Its current Director Elizabeth Berridge has a grand vision for its future. She's doing a great job in deepening the party's relationship with Britain's churches.
