I am reticent about joining choruses accusing the BBC of institutional bias against the Conservatives, not least because I worked there for four years and believe some of the Right-wing criticisms of the corporation to be unjustified sweeping generalisations.
However, I was astounded to read this piece this morning, to which I was directed by DB in a comment.
Ben Stephenson, the BBC's drama commissioning controller (pictured), states unequivocally:
It may well be part of his job to commission thought-provoking drama, but to suggest that it should be specifically promoting thinking of a left-of-centre nature is absolutely outrageous.
Can we expect a retraction and apology?
