The way Parliamentary expenses have been abused by some, the John Lewis list retained and the repeated attempts to hush everything up is a spectacle that people tell me they find truly disgusting. The latest attempt by Harriet Harman et al to prevent the open access that was promised is incredibly damaging to confidence in the House of Commons and public life generally. I'd be really interested to know what readers think should happen. Should MPs caught fiddling expenses be expelled from the House of Commons? And should we reduce the number of MPs significantly, as David Cameron is suggesting?
