Various newspapers report delays to Gordon Brown's planned reshuffle. It seems that the sticking point is that a number of Cabinet ministers have said they'd rather resign than be moved. But what about Ruth Kelly, who's already announced her intention to resign?
If the Transport Secretary is still in post by the time MPs return to Westminster, both she and the Government are going to look ridiculous. For that reason, I don't see the reshuffle being delayed for long, even if it is just to get her successor in place.
But if that's just about all that the reshuffle amounts to, then Gordon Brown's authority will take another hefty blow.
