It's taken longer than I had originally planned but today sees the launch of AmericaInTheWorld.com. I closed down BritainAndAmerica a number of months ago because Stephan Shakespeare (publisher) and I felt it lacked a clear purpose. AmericaInTheWorld.com has very clear aims, set out in its manifesto and in its masthead.
Our aim is to create a site that will soon appear at or near the top of Google search engines when, for example, students and journalists seek information on anti-Americanism. I hope there's something special in non-Americans standing up against what has become the acceptable prejudice of our times.
There's not much point me saying a lot here as the website speaks for itself but I'd like to highlight two things of particular interest to ConHome readers...
One, I'm delighted that David Cameron has agreed to be the guest of honour at the site's formal launch in October.
Second, I'm even more pleased to announce that Peter Cuthbertson will be working with me on the project.
Peter is a regular contributor to CentreRight but was also one of the first bloggers in Westminster with his Conservative Commentary blog. We've been working together now for nearly two months and I hope we can make AITW a success together.
