Excellent article by Alan Johnson (not that Alan Johnson) over on Comment is Free which is relevant to our discussion of judicial activism. Of course, it isn't judicial activism per se but it does illustrate how some crucial issues just can't be settled by the courts effectively. Democratic control is needed - we need to scrap the HRA and remove ourselves from the ECHR - so that we can make necessary hard choices.
