According to a YouGov poll for today's Evening Standard.
- Boris 49% (Up 2)
- Livingstone 36% (Down 1)
- Brian Paddick 10% (Unchanged)
- Sian Berry (Green Party) 2% (Unchanged)
- Others 3%
This is the biggest lead for Boris yet. (Anyone calling him Boris Johnson is fined £5.) One note of caution. When second preferences are allocated Boris is ahead of Livingstone by 56% to 44%. This is the figure that counts. This is the same as last week and the first poll to show Livingstone actually narrowing Boris' lead when the second preferences come in.
The response of the Livingstone campaign is to complain about the pollsters YouGov. Let them shoot the messenger. Let us get on with getting the message across. How are things going on the doorstep in your patch?
