Give it away???
Give it back, would be more like it. Take less in the first place, even better. And as for what on earth is meant by "We put the money in the bank, we put it by and then we go back to the electorate...", why not allow taxpayers to pile the money up in their own pots? Or spend it if they want to.
It is, after all, their money that Philip Hammond was talking about.
