John McCain has gone on air with the first television general election advert of the 2008 season; a sombre offering entitled "624787" which features footage of his time in a Vietnamese prisoner of war camp.
The launch of this television ad coincides with the kick-off of McCain's high-profile 'Service to America' tour, a series of six speeches over the next week in places the Senator has lived and worked (Mississippi, Virginia, Maryland, Florida and Arizona) in order to highlight the experiences that have shaped his personal and political values.
