There are tons of examples of bureaucracy in Britain is getting worse. Here's one from my day today. To avoid landing the person who told me in any trouble, I'll anonymise the relevant courts.
There's a member of court staff at Court A. She has always processed the court's legal aid applications. Only now, to ensure a more "efficient" service the legal aid process has been centralised and they're all dealth with at court B, several miles away.
Now, when she gets the applications, she has to box them up, and has to have them couriered to court B. Once a week, as the designated legal aid officer for her own district, she has to make the journey to court B where she opens up the boxes she packed previously, processes the forms, and then goes back to court A again.
Sigh.
