We (rightly) have a great deal of discussion about our national culture of binge drinking. In my work in criminal law, I often see the outcomes. But this old article from The Spectator (I'm still finding old cut-outs as I pack up) rather puts things in perspective:
The Mongolians, I discovered, consume 60 million bottles of vodka per month. Given that there are just 2.5 million Mongolians, including women and children, this is impressive.
