Last night Bill Cash MP (Chairman of the European Foundation) appeared on the 9pm BBC News, discussing the importance of his amendment on the supremacy of Parliament for about five minutes.
Well, the first two minutes went fine … and then Cash began criticising the BBC for their appalling coverage over the Lisbon Treaty in the public interest. I tend to agree with him on this given that their entire coverage of the Treaty has become a complete joke. Oddly enough, despite this being one of their longest interviews that night, the BBC has decided not to host it on the website with their collected interviews after the Treaty vote last night.
I cannot therefore link into the BBC coverage. I have e-mailed the BBC asking them to correct this error on the website … I do not expect to hear back from them in a rush.
It was very important – Cash’s point was, after all, that even if the Treaty is to go through, then the sovereignty of the UK Parliament must be protected in order for it to serve as a body which can legislate on behalf of the British people.
