Peter Cuthbertson quotes Matthew Yglesias:
In terms of getting things done, what's John McCain ever accomplished?
Er, well – there was this.
Granted, McCain hasn't managed to get a great deal of legislation through Congress. But then again, Winston Churchill didn't exactly set the policy agenda during his wilderness years. That's the problem with being right when so many people around you are wrong, a position which McCain has found himself in vis a vis his party on issues like Iraq, big money politics, climate change and torture.
Finally, McCain could have got a lot more things done if the Republicans had chosen him in 2000 instead of the other guy.
