We are fast approaching the first anniversary of David Cameron's leadership. ConservativeHome will publish a 'state of the grassroots opinion survey' to coincide with that anniversary. The poll will go into the field over the next few days. What questions should be asked?

The speech was part of a day’s conference that included the good and the great, such as Camilla Batmanghelidjh and Trevor Philpott. These people are important opinion leaders and, by dubbing the Speech “hug a hoodie”, Tony Blair put centre-stage his insincerity to their cause. Tony Blair’s spin gave him a temporary victory, but at a price. The spin will return to haunt him.

Seriously Mark if you believe that then you really are in a dream world. Blair is without a doubt a very able politician and to deny that is being totally blinkered. What we should be doing is to acknowledge that anything we say should not give him an opportunity to turn it around against us.That really does require a great deal of skill and although DC perhaps has that,it needs to be directed into covering areas of real concern to the electorate and try not to outspin the Labour machine.
