ComRes poll also shows 2% Livingstone lead over Boris

Following the YouGov poll last week another Evening Standard poll has shown that Ken Livingstone is ahead of Boris Johnson by 2%. This poll is by ComRes, also conducted for LBC and ITV's London Tonight. It shows Livingstone ahead by 46% to 44% with the Lib Dem candidate Brian Paddick on just 5%. Then in a choice between Livingstone and Boris once other candidates are eliminated Livingstone is ahead by 51% to 49%.

A significant 44% say the fare increases make them less likely to vote for Boris.

Boris is rated ahead of Ken when it comes to fighting crime, changing London for the better and handling the capital's economy. 39% do  not believe that Ken Livingstone would deliver his fares pledge.

> At the start of this month Tim Montgomerie warned against complacency: "If I had the choice of running Labour's campaign or the Tory campaign I think I'd choose Labour's."
