Victory for Rod Liddle as Ryedale scraps non-job

Regular readers of this blog may remember how Rod Liddle lamented in The Spectator that Conservative councils seemed just as likely as Labour or Lib Dem ones to have "non-jobs" with politically correct titles.

I invited the relevant council leaders to respond and one of them was Cllr Keith Knaggs, the leader of Ryedale District Council.

He now offers a further update:

Some time ago I responded to your request for comment on Ryedale District Council's "lifestyle and healthy activities officer". One of the comments was that I'd find it difficult to delete the post. Well yes there was an argument, but the outcome was that the post was not renewed.

Thought you'd like to know.

Good for him.
