Nick Boles selected for Grantham & Stamford

A rollercoaster few months for Nicholas Boles - and for the Grantham and Stamford Conservative Association - has ended in success with his adoption as the Conservative candidate to succeed Quentin Davies.

Nick skipped Tory Conference in order to dedicate himself to the selection process that concluded tonight.

He beat Steve Barclay, James Brokenshire and Vicky Ford.

He inherits a projected Conservative majority of 6,636.

Final four for Grantham and Stamford

The G&S Executive have shortlisted four of yesterday's six for an open primary contest on 4th 5th October:

Final six for Grantham and Stamford

The final six to replace Quentin Davies as the Conservative standard-bearer in Grantham and Stamford are:

  • Steve Barclay
  • Nicholas Boles
  • James Brokenshire
  • Therese Coffey
  • Vicky Ford
  • Plus a local headteacher - not sure of the name but perhaps Tim Clark(e).

I'm very surprised that Simon Chapman has not been put through.  Simon has been Chairman of the Association and an outstanding talent.  Sometimes these selection processes produce bewildering results.  Perhaps it's not too late for the Association Executive to make amends...

Applications open for Grantham and Stamford

CCHQ has opened applications for Quentin Davies' old seat of Grantham and Stamford.  Applications must be submitted by 28th August.  The projected Conservative majority over Labour is 6,636.
