Paul is founding partner of a specialist fund management firm and since 2006 has been chairman of Conservative Business Relations for the London region. He is also on the committee of Conservative City Future and a member of the Conservative City Circle.
He said on his selection:
"I am delighted to have been selected as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for East Ham. East Ham is one of the poorest and the most ethnically diverse constituencies in the country. The people of East Ham have been badly let down by Labour, both locally and nationally, and I look forward to working hard to remove them."
East Ham is held for Labour by Stephen Timms, who will defend a notional majority (after minor boundary changes) of 13,649 over Respect. The Conservatives begin in third place with around 14% of the vote.
