Susan Williams selected to unseat Ruth Kelly in Bolton West

Williams_susanA-lister Susan Williams has been adopted for the target seat of Bolton West - projected Labour majority 4,075.  Commenting on her selection leader of nearby Trafford council said:

"I am delighted to have been selected for Bolton West- given my experience of winning in a Metropolitan area, I see this as my next challenge and a challenge that I intend to win for the people of Bolton West. As a Greater Manchester constituency, Bolton West is local territory for me and I am very familiar with many of the issues that affect the people here. I am really looking forward to working for the people of Bolton West."

Cllr Williams beat local man Stephen Ogden.

On yesterday's Platform Robert McIlveen noted how tactical voting could help win seats like this.

Race to challenge Ruth Kelly is down to two

An open primary (to be decided) selection on Thursday 9th November will decide which Tory takes on Ruth Kelly at the next General Election.  The race for the Bolton West selection will be between A-lister Susan Williams, leader of Trafford Council, and Stephen Ogden, a Bolton Wanderers-supporting 'local candidate'.
