Meet Edward Timpson... the next Conservative MP for Crewe and Nantwich?

With your help he could be.  ConservativeHome is organising a coach next Sunday (18th) from London to Crewe.  We've got about twenty people who have said 'yes' so far to joining us.  Please click here for information about coming along too.

I've only just seen this:

What a disgusting approach, Labour should be ashamed of themselves. Edward Timpson has to win and expose the politics of envy as the vacuous and destructive garbage it really is.

Thank you Henry, really low stuff. I hadn't seen that. Today's Daily Mail has noticed the Toff stuff from Labour, however, and has attacked Brown for it.

Not a good idea to use ones family in a political video.

We all remember David Mellor, the five bar gate and the in-laws

Nuff said

Henry Cook:

Ah Labour are running their typical near-racist lowest-common-denominator "they're soft on yobs, soft on asylum seekers" campaign so redolent of the Birmingham by-election of 2004. Hopefully the Tory campaign will rebut this nasty vicious divisive authoritarianism.

More of it. Also notice how they claim how Edward failed to "stand up to his Tory mates running the council who've failed to blah, blah, blah..." Do you think they actually know that the C&N Council is NOC, and that maybe, just maybe, it's because of all those Labour councillors that the Conservatives can't do anything?

DC is banking on Brown's fiasco over the abolition of the 10p band to resonate well in Crewe and Nantwich but have we yet got a convincing answer to the question "well, what are you going to do about it?"

I would like to hear that the first conservative budget will be aimed at simplifying the tax and benefits system (not necessarily a promise to reduce tax, just "simplify") in order to eliminate any such unfairness.

Edward seems to be a really good candidate.

The local Labour seem really nasty. I think they're really letting down Gwyneth Dunwoody. It's a bit sad when even the local party of a really respected Labour MP act like nasty children.

Yes, even Jon Cruddas MP, a senior Labour backbencher argues that 'attacks on the privileged background of David Cameron and other Conservatives are a mistake.' He says,'They are talking the language of relationships and fraternity and we are talking about precision bombing messages to specific cohorts of swing voters - Its so old-fashioned.' (Curtesy of the Daily Mail).

Ha!! So there we have it from the mouth of Labour itself, OLD-FASHIONED, the obssession with targets, statistics, etc:, etc:, the numberology that was examined in that programme by Andrew Curtis called 'Freedom' which I watched again yesterday (one episode), where the theory that people can be regarded as numbers, with preconceived attitudes and needs all estimated. Apparently in 1997 Blair and Brown took all this on board with alacrity!! The scientist whose idea (obssession) it was, spent at least one stay in a mental institution in the States, and when interviewed about his theory, quite frankly gave the impression of being drugged!

A friend of mine - a floating voter who always votes for the candidate and not the party - phoned up today to say he has met 2 candidates - the Lib dem woman was very pleasant and personable but a little weak on policy but ours was a drip with minus charisma - i hope this is not right

I've seen the footage on Edward Timpson, which was really good. I doubt if opponents could find anything negative about him, hence the nasty tactics they have been trying recently. Having failed to combat the Conservatives on policy, leadership quality and popular appeal they are falling back on their last redoubt - prejudice! Same old Labour, same old story!

We've also got a coach coming from Manchester on the 18th so for anyone who wants to get on that just get in touch with me at robertlargan@googlemail.com

Gwyneth Dunwoody was respected by all but Tamsin - don't think so!. Her campaign is shameless, so Edward Timpson - good luck.

Gordon Brown may be a problem for Labour but he's not the only problem for me!.

Of greater concern are the 'Hooray Henriettes' - Dawn Primarolo, Ruth Kelly, Harriet Harman, pseudo HH Hazel Blears, to name but few.

A female mafia of the most patronising, uninformed, nannyish kind - all singing from the same prescribed songsheet. What woman (or man) can actually relate to them, none that I know (and I'm a female, lifelong till now Labour voter from Crewe) ?

I used to think Patricia Hewitt was bad and in a world of her own but this lot really are the pits - the Stepford wives of Parliament - Primarolo speaks as though constantly adressing either the brain damaged or a class of 5 year olds, Harman and others the same.

Add to it 'upwardly mobile & loving the trimmings' boys who look young enough for short trousers and what have a you got. A labour Government inept, inexperienced, out of touch, who don't relate, all speaking the same words in the hope that if they say it often enough, like the childrens story we'll all see the naked emperor wearing clothes!

I'm from a working class family where values of hard work and decent community supporting behaviour were enshrined and I'm ashamed to have voted for New Labour.

They've wrecked the country - too many handouts to undeserving, money wasted everywhere, too many quangos, the fabric of society ruined, crime rules ok (unless you're a motorist), the environment used for crippling taxes and generally we're left over taxed and over controlled from birth to death.

Labour isn't labour anymore - I doubt any of them could hold down a real job. Tamsin is part of a wealthy dynasty and a complete hypocrite in the attack/campaign on Timpson (who's family is one of the most charitable and decent around with values she and New Labour would do well to support not deride).

People are sick and tired of being treated as morons, Labours expectation of support in Crewe when it has inflicted so much damage on peoples lives and incomes is breathtakingly arrogant. We've all seen society and all values fall apart, been taxed to death, we're having to budget even for food and travel and incomes are static - we feel we're working for nothing.

There is no motivation to aspire and work, overtaxed we see those taxes squandered with no improvements and further tax taken.

I'm sick of being patronised by a Labour Government that is completely out of touch with whats really happening in a country, they're supposed to be governing and I hope other Crewe and Nantwich voters share these sentiments and vote for a real alternative in Edward Timpson.
