Alberto Costa is a fantastic wowrker and one of the most genuine people I have met in politics.
He has lifelong experience in taking on the Labour Party in Scotland (I know Angus is SNP).
Well done !!

I have no doubt about the candidate but anyone who lives in Tayside or Angus knows that there is not a hope in hell of this ever being won... I would guess come election night 2009/10 all SNP majorities to be extended significantly and quite a few labour and liberal scalps being held in thier clenched fists.

Sorry, Peter, but I have been a Scottish Tory activist for 20 years and neither I nor anyone I know had heard of this guy before. Can you provide some background please?
Scott, we should remember that Mike Weir is an uniquely useless MP and is highly beatable with a hard-working candidate living locally.

Blue Boy, Alberto is young unmarried HM Treasury litigation lawyer based in London. The significant advantage he has over the other 2 candidates is a distinctively Glaswegian accent which should enable him to connect with the locals.

Alberto is very articulate and will be a determined and hard working candidate. He is to all intents and purposes Scottish and is a graduate of Glasgow University. And he is married - I was at his wedding!

Thanks for the correction, G Bo, and my apologies to Alberto as he introduced himself as someone with a partner. In this day and age, I don't believe there is a need to justify the credentials and sincerity of someone like Alberto merely because his name doesn't sound Scottish.
Yes, Alberto is a very pleasant chap, and I wish him well too. I am confident he will win Angus.

Alberto is an excellent candidate with a track record of commitment and hard work.
Above all, he is a genuine person who can connect with people. If anyone can deliver a blue Angus, it is Alberto.

At times I really do wonder about some of the people who comment on this site! People are so quick to make nasty and factually incorrect comments with regard to people they clearly know nothing about.
A quick look at the Scottish Conservative Party website would have told you that he was Scottish and that he was married.

Alberto is Scottish, married, and has a young baby!! Will that do for his detractor??

Any news on how things are going in this seat?
Despite it being nearby to my constituency I hear very little info about it.
