Others have already noted some unfortunate historical precedents for the creepy new campaign to have children keep records of 'climate crimes' committed by their parents - such as leaving a mobile phone charger plugged in and refrigerating hot food. I'm at once reminded of Pavlik Morozov, a Soviet boy who was supposedly murdered by his grandparents for shopping his parents to the authorities. Stalin's regime lionised the boy as a martyr to the idea of the socialist cause taking precedence over all else, including private family life.
Perhaps we ought to put up a statue to Pavlik Morozov in London, to symbolise Britain's robust approach to combating increases in global temperatures by any means necessary!
