NUT oppose new faith schools because...?

As well as opposing armed services recruitment visits to schools (see Peter Whittle's post), the NUT conference also adopted a policy document opposing all new faith schools. They allege that faith schools as a group hinder community cohesion.

But, If Anglican and Catholic faith schools really hinder community cohesion, why do so many Muslim and Hindu parents send their children to them in preference to the normal comprehensives the NUT want all children to be forced to attend...?

CoE schools aren't real faith, given that very few people there have parents that believe in God. Catholic schools are for children with guilty parents.

There's definitely a case that can be made that they don't aid community cohesion where the "faith" is aligned with a particular cultural group that gets direction from outside the UK. I think that's the point.

What has ruined our schools is 60 years of municipal socialism working hand in hand with the loons of the NUT. Not by talent but by a combination of longevity and buggins turn they have reached positions where they are able to maximise the damage that they do.

Nothing can be done to reverse the position until the last of these refugees from the '70s has retired or been put out to grass forcibly.
