Boris lead down slightly to 10%

473710_3 According to a YouGov poll for today's Evening Standard.

  • Boris 47%
  • Livingstone 37%
  • Brian Paddick 10%
  • Sian Berry (Green Party) 2%
  • Others 3%

It also shows Boris getting more second preference votes, 18%, than Livingstone, 14%. When second preferences are allocated Boris is ahead of Livingstone by 56% to 44%.

This is another good poll but the lead on first preferences is down slightly from 12% given in another YouGov/Evening Standard poll a couple of weeks ago. So we can't afford to put our feet up. Boris is working ferociously hard to secure victory and he needs the rest of us to do the same.

I saw a Livingstone campaign poster yesterday - ballot paper between a loose cannon, one of the others and the London candidate. The message could have been used by Boris. Very silly!

There was no mention of the Labour Party. The colour scheme was purple. It looks as if Ken is running an an independent.

Thankfully Ken's campaign has been flat thus far. In fact, he seems to be campaigning by saying to Londoners that he is not going to offer anything different - which is strange for a guy so completely swamped in sleaze and police investigations.

It does have a Labour party rose at the top right hand corner but it's not exactly prominent.

It also has the three boxes motif repeated at the bottom right corner, where the first two have no caption and the last one has "Ken" beside it. I don't really condone graffiti, but it would be incrediby tempting for some of the lower to the ground poster sites to put a cross in the top of these three boxes and write "Boris" beside it
